Mexico Lindo

We love to see different cultures joined together by love on the wedding day and beyond. I come from a Mexican family and I could not be more proud of it. Showing one's culture on such a special day could be fun and simple! In Mexican culture we are all about good food, a chilled margarita and music all night. Here are a few elements that could be incorporated into a Mexican inspired wedding.

First we have texture & dimension. Bringing in clay pottery of all different shapes and sizes will add texture, color and interest to any table or display. Often you can find vintage pots that could have been used for mixing beverages in or serving dishes. Adding papel picado, a traditional Mexican craft of colorful (or all one color) paper sheets with intricate cut-out designs, is a beautiful way to bring the design above the tables.

Next we have the flowers! Mexico lindo is all about vibrant colors and what’s a better way to show that than through flowers? Hot pink peonies, peach ranunculus, light pink dahlias and vibrant colored marigolds will be a burst of color the centerpieces will need. Bringing in the clay pottery onto the tables will add warmth and create great contrast. Pair with a few small clusters of cactus along the table, add some candles and you’re all set.

Let’s talk food! Mexican food is a huge part of our culture not only because it’s delicious but because it brings family and friends together! Creating fun signature margaritas and having a taco selection on the menu will for sure have your guests raving about it all night. There are many fun ways to display drinks to make your guest’s experience that much better.

Weddings are such a special day where family and friends come together to celebrate two people starting their journey, there’s no better time to show that love and respect to the two cultures coming together. I will be very proud one day to have my own Mexican inspired wedding. These are just a few ways to incorporate culture on your big day! Salud ah Mexico Lindo!

xoxo, Irany
