Are antique weddings making a comeback?
In the last year including things like old antique furniture and vintage, moody color palettes to weddings are seemingly making a huge appearance in the coming years. One idea that people have been incorporating to make their special day more personalized is instead of the standard table numbers, the couple name each table after a city they have been to or has some sort of importance to them as a couple. This is a great way to pay tribute to their past but also their future as a couple. Bringing the past to life is one of the biggest trends that people can look for in 2022.
Everyone has heard the phrase, “Something old, something borrowed, something new” on the couples wedding day, but in 2022 people are bringing new meaning to ‘something old’. Due to the unprecedented pandemic that we all experienced in 2020, and are still amid, people are striving to make their wedding personalized and authentic to them. As a result of this, couples are straying from destination weddings and instead bringing said destination to the comfort of their own backyards. Romantic and whimsical décor along with small intimate wedding parties bring most couples dream days to life without having to leave their cities. The theme of escapism has become a huge trend. As stated by Partier co-founder Danielle Tullo La Testa, “In 2022, I think weddings will focus on escapism, with a ton of whimsical and romantic details...in lieu of a Positano wedding, they're instead recreating that dreamy, lemon-filled celebration here.” So, if you or someone you know is struggling to find the perfect balance between antique, romantic and destination maybe you have to look no further than your own backyard.
