2024 in Review at Jane Rae Events

We’re drawing to the close of 2024, so we wanted to take a moment and savor the joys and accomplishments of this year before jumping in to the next. It has been a massive year here at JRE, but instead of just looking at numbers, I asked our team what moments they are most proud of. Each member of our team reflected on one of their accomplishments this year, and I could not be more proud to share them with you.

So buckle in, grab your cosy winter beverage of choice, and join us in celebrating a wonderful year!

Rachel - “As the Office Director, my role revolves around Human Resources and Finance. Because of this, most of my accomplishments happen behind the scenes in order to help the team succeed with their events. I do not have any sort of finance degree, so this year I decided to take a few courses on QuickBooks Online and became certified in QuickBooks. This certification has given me the confidence to solve problems on my own instead of reaching out to an outside accountant, and, therefore, it saves the company money so we can use those funds for our team and clients.”

Becky - “I am most proud of how far we have come with designing fresh floral pocket squares. We have revamped, tweaked, and polished our process so that we can offer yet another fun floral element to your big day!”

Rebecca - “One thing I love about my job is continually looking for new solutions to create beautiful floral installations. This year, we made some stunning installs that were completely foam free - which creates less waste for us and is better for the environment. It’s exciting to find ways to grow more sustainable without sacrificing our quality of design!”

Irany - “One of my accomplishments would be Shelby Vinson's wedding ceremony & reception design. From sketching out the biggest arch JRE has created, to making it a reality was both challenging and exciting. Having a vision for a "moss wall" and figuring out how to create it efficiently was very fun for me. This event, with so many others, has really brought our design capabilities to another level that I'm ready for.”

Ashley - “I think I am most proud of Shelby Vinson's wedding day. Yes for the details but mostly I am proud of how much time and effort went into curating every moment of that day, from getting the dress mannequin moved in early, to having the ceremony flipped into a reception with a 7 piece band and having a custom ice cream cart magically appear for the guests. It was so much coordinating and the day was truly flawless and for that I am so proud.”

Tess - “I had the pleasure of being the coordinator and designer for Jess Van Otterloo and Tristan Bender's wedding day on June 8th. This one was nothing short of a challenge, but it made the success of their day that much sweeter. This was my very first day of coordination, their ceremony was on their personal property, their reception at a venue I have never been to, and their vendors were a group of people I have never worked with prior. All of these factors added to the stress of making their day perfect, and let me tell you it was perfect. All of the hard work and communication prior paid off and the day ran as smoothly. When I was telling Jess and Tristan goodbye, I told them it was my very first day of coordination and they did not believe me. For those reasons, that is the thing I am most proud of this past year.”

Josie - “I got the opportunity to design the styled shoot we did for the cover of 605 Weddings. This was my first time leading a styled shoot and it allowed me to have creative freedom with few constraints. HUGE shoutout to our floral team for all of their hard work in the design - it wouldn't have been possible without them. I am really proud of how everything turned out and can't wait for it to be printed in January!”

We can’t spoil the surprise of this shoot, but trust me - it is stunning. Josie seriously killed it. Run, don’t walk to pick up a copy of 605 Weddings in January!

Katie - "Well, I had a baby this year! Maeve Murphy joined our team. I am proud of myself for figuring out a new way of life (still figuring) in becoming a mom and continue to be the best leader I can for our team. I am also beyond proud of this team in supporting me during my non-office days while I was home with Maeve. Cheers to moms out there who continue to follow their passions and raise their little loves along the way."
